SNEAK PEEK:
- Blur NFT marketplace airdrop was revealed on February 13.
- Scammers have built fake Shibarium after removing liquidity.
- The most prominent Blur airdrop farmer has received 3.2 million BLUR.
The much-anticipated airdrop for the Blur Non-Fungible Token (NFT) Marketplace was revealed on February 13. However, a blockchain security company believes that fraudsters have been attempting to take advantage of the situation to steal customers’ money.
According to a tweet posted by PeckShield, a scammer posing as the official Blur account has sent bogus BLUR tokens to Coinbase, Justin Sun, and Yuga Labs. The tweet further claims that the scammers have built fake Shibarium, after which the fraudsters are said to have removed the liquidity.
#PeckShieldAlert Scammers pretend as @blur_io Deployer to deploy fake $Blur and airdrop to Coinbase, Justinsun, and Yuga Labs, in an attempt to trick folks into thinking it’s the official #Blur #Airdrop. After removing liquidity, they created a fake $SHIBARIUM. Be alert! #DOGE pic.twitter.com/Lrs1v60g5c

As per reports, the Blur airdrop was initially scheduled for January, but the project’s development team ultimately decided to hold the event in February. According to a tweet from the company’s official account, the launch was delayed so that engineers could work on improving the BLUR ecosystem.
$BLUR is launching February 14
We know this is past our initial estimate of January and we’re sorry for the delay. We’re trying new things and the extra two weeks will allow us to deliver a launch that hasn’t been done before. Airdrop 3 will continue until then. pic.twitter.com/ZzSyGzjZJD

As a bonus, the most prominent BLUR airdrop farmer has received 3.2 million BLUR since the launch of the Blur NFT marketplace, which translates to almost $1.9 million at the current BLUR pricing. This comes after the distribution of BLUR coins to users, in which most users received a certain number of BLUR coins, usually between 25 and hundreds of thousands.
According to Coinbase director Conor’s tweet,
The largest BLUR airdrop farmer has received 3.2M BLUR, worth about $1.9M at current prices
There are about 25 single-wallet BLUR millionaires thus far including:

As per Coindesk, the NFT market asset “Blur” had a trading volume of over $500 million within the first 24 hours of its introduction. To that end, it bills itself as a “marketplace for professional traders” and seeks to devolve much of the platform’s authority to its user base.
